Anglesey Sea Salt or Halon Mon PDO 2014
I love Anglesey. I’ve been there four times in the last two years it is stunning and I’m talking about Trac Mon one of the most beautiful race circuits in the world. I’m going to leave this here just incase anyone fancys a look, Trac Mon. The whole area is very scenic not dissimilar to my beloved Northumbria except for the mountain and hills of Snowdonia in the distance. The beaches are stunning with fine sand, huge dunes and lively rock pools.
Salt, well I’m not showing off here but I have two jars of Halen Mon in the kitchen cupboard, it’s the best you can buy and if you like good food and cooking it’s a must. Sea salt as you’d probably guess is only as good as the sea water it comes from and you don’t get much better than the gulf stream.
The strength of flavour also means you don’t need to add as much to your food making it a healthier option. I won’t harp (Welsh ho ho) on about production and history as the family makers have done a better job of that than I could on the website below. There’s also recipes, a blog featuring events and guided tours.
